What's On Your Mind?

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

In these verses, Paul is exhorting us as believers to have a filter in place regarding our thought life. What do you think would happen in your life if the filter you had in place propelled you to think differently?

Out of our thought life comes our emotions and what actions we choose to take to implement those thoughts and feelings. Behind all of this is our basic belief system. We can choose to believe Satan's lies or God's truths.

Believing God's truth about who we are in Christ will lead toward toward alignment with God's thoughts which are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.

What filter do you have in place for your thought life as you live your life as a believer and servant to others?

Paul admonishes us to put these things into practice. He also assures us that as we filter our thoughts through God's truth, we are not alone as the God of peace is with us! What a precious promise from our Creator!
