The Importance Of Obedience

and as for you, you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land, you shall tear down their altars. But you have not obeyed Me; what is this you have done? Therefore, I also said, "I will not drive them out before you; but they will become as thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you." (Judges 2:2-3)

Wow! Do you and I realize that incomplete obedience is really disobedience? And all disobedience to God has serious consequences. Sometimes we don’t realize the seriousness of disobedience because God’s grace and mercy doesn't result in immediate consequences. But the Bible tells us, “Don’t be deceived, God is not mocked.” We do reap what we sow!

So what are you planting? What kind of a harvest do you want? Is it one that will bear eternal fruit for His kingdom and His glory?

1 Samuel 15:22 Samuel said, “Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice. And to heed than the fat of rams.”

I pray that God will give us hearts that desire to obey Him in every area of our life and ministry.
