Waiting for God's Timing

"Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome."  (Acts 23:11) "But after two years Porcius Festus succeeded Felix; and Felix, wanting to do the Jews a favor, left Paul bound."  (Acts 24:27)

Have you ever felt that God wanted you to do something important, yet it seemed to take forever to get to that point?

Waiting is never easy in our culture of fast foods, fast cars, and just about fast everything. Yet even in the first century, it couldn't have been easy to wait. The Apostle Paul had to wait - and wait in prison, unjustly, so he could do what God had told him to do. Paul waited two years from the time God told him he would go to Rome.

Two years may not seem like a long time to some, but I'll bet you've rarely had a vision from God either! That would seem to me to put a more definitive stamp on what's going to happen. Paul KNEW it had to happen. But time dragged on. He remained faithful to doing what God had commanded him to do in the meanwhile (Acts 24:24-25).

So should we.  Am I a faithful follower during the wait? Are you? Let's pray that we keep on keeping on.
