A Timely Word

A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Proverbs 25:11

Have you ever thought about the appropriateness of what we say to one another? This proverb speaks to how suitable our words can be when spoken at the right time.

Many times we may be tempted to speak before we think and at the wrong time just to get our point across to another person. We need to consider the motives behind what we are saying as well as the circumstances surrounding the need to speak.

If words are delivered in a timely manner, it can be like apples of gold in settings of silver. Picture this: a silver bowl of golden apples. The brilliance alone could be enough to cause you to step back in amazement at the beauty of what you are seeing.

When words are appropriately shared, they can have a huge impact on the listener!

Perhaps you are in a situation where you are mentoring someone and you need to speak God's truth into their lives. Seek the Holy Spirit's guidance before sharing with that person. Check your motives. And through His prompting, your words will come across like that brilliant picture of golden apples in settings of silver.
