Do You Comprehend God’s Love for You?

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all that saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all that fullness of God.  (Eph. 3:16-19)

Jesus who is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords left his heavenly home to be born in a smelly stable. Because His family was poor he grew up in a humble setting. Even as an adult Jesus choose to not accumulate possessions but to minister to others. He showed His love for people in how He talked to them and treated them. Although He performed many miracles to help people physically, His main purpose was to help people see that He was the true Messiah. Then Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice out of His love for us and to pay for our sins. He was crucified after being tortured and humiliated. He was buried and rose again to have victory over sin and death. "But God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8)

Jesus loves us unconditionally and wants us to come to Him for forgiveness, strength and peace. Only as we go to Him through prayer and reading His Word, the Holy Bible, can we begin to understand His great love for us. May you more fully understand His love as you spend time with Him.
