Do you ever get anxious?
/First Peter 5:7 says, “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.” (Amplified Bible) Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).” (Amplified Bible)
Have you ever been anxious? Do you remember why you were anxious? One moment my spirit can be completely at peace and then all of a sudden something will happen and I become anxious. Ever happen to you? God has been speaking to me about this lately.
We were in Brazil teaching a workshop. Half way through the week, my computer would not even start. I became anxious! God came and reminded me that I needed to give that “care” to Him. He not only provided a computer for us to use, but also provided a helper to go with us to the workshop to make sure everything worked properly.
Another time, Jackie and I were scheduled to teach a workshop in New Holland, PA. Things were a little hectic as we were leaving. Half way to New Holland, all of a sudden I couldn’t remember packing the projector! Anxious again! (I am a slow learner!) I called my friend and she contacted the coordinator. The coordinator couldn’t remember if I even had a projector and had the church set one up. God is so amazing. He never fails! So we are setting up and Jackie brought her computer. We hooked it up and it didn’t recognize the projector and closed down and we couldn’t open it again! Another anxious moment! As I shared the problem, we suddenly noticed that the church’s computer was on the equipment table. Another great provision from God!
As we approach changing seasons, we can become anxious about a lot of things. So I would like to suggest to you now, that you take a few moments and meditate on the above Scriptures and then put them to memory. They are a great comfort and help if you are like me and tend to get anxious when things don’t go according to your schedule.
