Are You a Wonderer?

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."  (Acts 20:24)

I like to wonder about things. Many people wonder, "Why am I here?" "What does God want me to do with my life?"  I can't speak for you, but when I asked God that question, He led me to Acts 20:24 "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me -the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."

WOW!  That really got me to wondering.  Do I really consider my life worth nothing to me? Is Christ really the most important person in my life?  Have I fully surrendered my life to Him? Once we have answered that question, then we need to ask ourselves if we are committed to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given to us.

I come from a rather difficult background and after receiving Christ as my Savior, my heart's desire was to help others who suffered some of the hurts I experienced. God had to do a great work of grace in my life before I could say that my life completely belongs to Him. Then He had to do more work to bring me to the place where my heart's desire is to finish the race and complete the task He has for me.  I am one who can testify to the gospel of God's grace.  I can say this because I know I have been chosen in Him before the creation of the world. In Him, "we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us." (Italics mine.)  Now there is a thought to wonder about.  Because of the grace I have received, I want others to know that grace too -that grace that frees you to be and to do what God has planned for you.  Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I pray you will take time today to allow God to search your heart. Do you know why you are here? Have you received His grace?  If not, read Ephesians 2:8-9 and pray and ask Christ to come into your life. If you have, then are you willing to surrender your life to Him and be committed to completely the task He has for you?  I pray you will know, live and testify of God's grace.
