He Who Began a Good Work

Sometimes in the busyness of life and the struggles that come it is hard for me to remember that the Lord is the keeper of promises. Just the other day I came across some verses that encouraged me. Philippians 1:6 and Numbers 23:19: “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”

He WILL keep working and WILL keep his promises. Many times the Lord uses music to solidify a truth.

The song Finish What He Started by Steven Curtis Chapman (included here) is a song that the Lord used to help me with this truth. Click here if you can't see the video below.

Sometimes it may seem that the Lord is taking a while to work. As the song says “it may feel like 40 long days in a hard driving rain or 40 years in a dry desert sand but when He’s finished we will see a beautiful tapestry and know that nothing has been wasted in the end.” If you have been struggling to trust the Lord with your life, are you ready to trust Him now. He CAN be trusted and will continue to work in each of our lives. Take some time to give your life to Him either for the first time or again to do whatever He wants … That is what I am going to do, right now!
