Attitude Of Gratitude

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:4,6

At this time of the year our hearts are drawn toward a holiday called “Thanksgiving”. The emphasis on this particular day is usually about being thankful for all that God has done for us throughout the year and counting our blessings.

I would like to suggest that the Scripture verses above encourage us to celebrate “Thanksgiving” all year long. Here’s the challenge – maintaining an attitude of gratitude on a daily basis. If we are able through God’s strength to be joyful, pray continually and offer thanks regularly, then we will be celebrating “Thanksgiving” 365 days of the year.

The world around us seems to be experiencing one tragedy after another. What if, instead of complaining about the circumstances around us, we focus on being thankful!

Think about what you can be grateful to God for in your life and remember to have an attitude of gratitude as you rejoice always and pray continually about your circumstances.
