Surrounded By God's Love

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore. Psalm 125:1-2

One of my most favorite places to be is in a valley. When you are located in a valley, you have to look up and when you look up, you will usually see majestic hills and mountains. You have the sense that you are in a safe place because you are protected by the fortification of those hills and mountains.

This reminds me of how grateful I am for the valleys in our lives because God and His unfailing love always surround us. If we trust in Him, we become like Mount Zion according to Psalm 125:1, firm, not easily shaken and able to endure forever!

In verse 2 we are reminded that as the mountains surround Jerusalem so the Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore. We are safe in the arms of Jesus and we can rest in Him no matter what happens to us or those we care about. What a blessed promise to think about!
